Who is Güliz Baydemir? (1982-Tekirdağ)She was born in Tekirdag in 1982. She graduated from the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 2005, ranking second in the department after entering as the first-ranked student. Between 2007 and 2010, she worked as a Research Assistant at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMU) and completed her master's degree. She studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino, Italy, with an Erasmus scholarship in 2011–2012. Between 2010 and 2016, she worked as a Research Assistant at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University under Article 35 and completed her Proficiency in Art/PhD degree. She worked as a Research Assistant at ÇOMU, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, from 2016 to 2018, and has served as an Assistant Professor at the same institution since 2018; she became an Associate Professor in 2026.
Her works have received a total of 10 awards from painting competitions and have been selected for exhibitions in competitions and projects including Mamut Art Project, Sefik Bursali, State Painting and Sculpture Exhibitions, the 85th Anniversary of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Tekel and TRT Painting Competitions. She has participated in group exhibitions in Turkey and in Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Northern Cyprus, China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and the USA. Her solo exhibitions include “Silent Areas” in Calabria, Italy (2012), and exhibitions in Istanbul, Çanakkale, Bozcaada, Tekirdag and Mugla/Bodrum. She has had 15 solo exhibitions in public and private venues and her works are included in various public and private collections in Turkey and abroad.
