Who is Ahmet Hakan Akkuş? (2000-Kahramanmaraş)Born in Kahramanmaraş, he completed his high school education in the Painting Department of the Fine Arts High School in 2018. That same year, he was accepted into the Painting Department at Sinop University. In 2020, he transferred from Sinop University to the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Sütçü İmam University. He graduated from the same university in 2022 and earned his master’s degree in Painting at Düzce University in 2024, where he continues his education. His works address psychologies that have not been able to establish themselves within the existing order (conditioning, repression, belonging). Pessimism or reactive emotional outbursts resulting from emotional deficiencies or the inability to control mood swings can lead to stressful personalities. This situation has created a personality that is unhappy, pessimistic, overjoyed, feels flawless, withdrawn, or unproductive. The artist emphasizes these structures in her questioning of imposed lives and thought patterns (OCD, ADHD, social anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia). Consequently, stereotyped thoughts emerge among societies and individuals, and the psychological effects of emotional processes that reflect on our social lives, both socially and individually, and lead to a loss of identity. Through the lobster and crab figures, she emphasizes and questions the reality of sociological and psychological existence that impacts ongoing life.Writing Ties:I am a body living in my own reality. I paint the nature I want to exist in. In this series, which I set out with the words: I search for my own self by transforming my loneliness, the life I live, my expectations, and what I experience within myself, which I don’t tell anyone, into paintings using different materials, whether in colors or the texture of the canvas. My artistic vision, born from my “desire to create a living space of my own” since childhood, has been the starting point for my work. The true meaning of art is to inspire individuals to seek greater good.
