Smile Karamustafa Will Represent Turkey at 2024 Venice Biennale

Gülsün Karamustafa will represent Turkey in 2024 at the Venice Biennale, one of the most important art events in the world, held every two years.
The Pavilion of Turkey at the Venice Biennale, coordinated by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, is at the 60th International Art Exhibition to be held between April 20 and November 24, 2024. will feature a new work he will produce.

Born in Adana in 1944, Gülsün Karamustafa graduated from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, painting department in 1968. Karamustafa's works, which have opened many personal exhibitions in Turkey and abroad since 1974, are exhibited in important museums such as Istanbul Modern, Santralistanbul and Sabancı Museum. Karamustafa's works deal with Turkey's recent history and social problems, and his paintings, photographs and videos are an important document on Turkey's social, cultural and political history.
