Anadolu University Fine Arts Faculty Painting Department Academic Member Prof. Zeliha Akçaoğlu's personal exhibition titled "Traces Traces" opened at Afyon Kocatepe University (AKÜ) Fine Arts Faculty.
The exhibition opening held at AKÜ M. Rıza Çerçel Culture and Art Center was held with the participation of GSF Dean Prof. Dr. Şerife Ebru Okuyucu, Assistant Deans Dr. Faculty Member Sena Coşkun, Dr. Faculty Member Fevzi Nuri Kara, Atatürkist Thought Association Afyonkarahisar Branch President Veli Cengiz, GSF Painting Department President Assoc. Prof. Erdal Ünsal, Cinema and Television Department President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azime Cantaş, GSF advisory board members, academicians and art lovers from Afyonkarahisar. The selection, which includes works produced by the artist using different techniques, will continue to meet with art lovers until June 27.
Who is Zehra Akçaoğlu?
Born in Ankara in 1964, Zeliha Akçaoğlu graduated from Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education, Department of Painting-Work in 1987. She worked as an art teacher between 1987-90. In 1990, she passed the State Scholarship Exam and started her postgraduate studies at New York Parsons School of Design in the United States. She completed her education in 1994 and returned to the country. She started working as a research assistant at Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting.
After submitting her thesis on “Proficiency in Art” at Hacettepe University, Institute of Social Sciences in 1998, she became an Assistant Professor. She became an Associate Professor in 2003 and a Professor in 2010. She served as the Head of Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting-Printmaking between 2013-2015. Currently continuing her studies in the field of Contemporary Art and Painting at the same university, Akçaoğlu; He has represented our country with his works in America, Austria, Germany, China, Iran, Sweden, Egypt, Moldova, Serbia, Tunisia and Greece. Akçaoğlu, who has 6 awards and 14 personal exhibitions, has works in various museums and public collections in addition to private collections.
