The final stop for Türkiye İş Bankası's rich art collection in 2025 will be İznik, one of the centers of tile art.
According to a statement from İş Sanat, the "Secrets of Blue" selection will be presented to art lovers at the bank's İznik branch on December 20-21, as part of the "İş Sanat Anatolian Exhibitions," which aims to transform İş Bankası branches into temporary art galleries.
The exhibition, which will bring together the reflections of a unique aesthetic heritage where color, pattern, and elegance meet in Turkish painting, will feature Şerif Renkgörür's lilac vase composition with İznik tile motifs, Şevket Dağ's painting of the Rüstem Paşa Mosque highlighting the rhythm that tiles create with architecture, the tiled spaces of Topkapı Palace with the impressions of Feyhaman Duran and Selahattin Teoman, prints depicting rural life by İznik-born Zeki Fındıkoğlu, still lifes in blue ceramics by Nazlı Ecevit and İbrahim Çallı, İznik-motif vases by Melahat Üren and Söbütay Özer, Hulusi Mercan's interpretation of the Yeşil Türbe emphasizing geometric arrangements, and a triple circular panel by Füreya Koral, a pioneer of modern ceramics in Turkey.
The exhibition, which presents the traces of tile aesthetics in Turkish painting, has previously been opened to visitors in Milas, Gelibolu, Antakya, and Midyat.
The exhibition aims to offer a comprehensive experience with children's workshops and presentations by expert art historians. (AA)
