Starting November 21st, Yapı Kredi Bomontiada will host the "Unnamable" exhibition, centered on the works of Ahu Akgün, Dilara Göl, Dilara Pak, Ece Erbil, Ilgaz Gürün, Onur Kılıç, Özge Akdeniz, Reyhan Mente, Yusuf Günler, and Yusuf Murat Şen, who are interested in the "unnamable" aspects of images and who, through exposure to the passing of time, recreate the traces of this time in the mind.

The artists, who make visible the images on the surfaces of their works in the exhibition, scratch the resulting works to represent fleeting testimony to a moment or a concern about that moment, encouraging the viewer to explore the relationship of images with time and the aesthetic potential of ambiguity.

Author, academic, and curator Emre Zeytinoğlu describes the exhibition as follows: “…An exhibition titled ‘The Unnamable’ naturally harbors a contradiction within itself; this raises another question: Is ‘The Unnamable’ the name of this exhibition, or is the exhibition denying its own name and seeking to rid itself of it? By denying its own name, the exhibition constantly experiences the necessity of returning to that name, knowing full well that it cannot escape this cycle: it is to experience anew the impenetrability of oppositions, and it is this state of ‘impenetrability’ that shapes everything we see.”

Project À aims to create a space where one can participate in the production process, even remotely, and to create a collective space of thought and production that allows artists to share their work throughout the process. Rather than being a one-time event, Project À aims to become a structure with continuity, producing new works and sub-projects with diverse themes.

The "Unnamable" exhibition can be visited every day between 11:00 and 20:00 at Yapı Kredi bomontiada GALLERY between 21-30 November.
