Kültür AŞ, one of the subsidiaries of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, hosts the "Young Meetings" exhibition in Taksim Sanat, which includes approximately 80 works of 41 artist candidates from 20 different universities of Turkey. The exhibition will continue to meet art lovers until July 21.

Taksim Art, the public exhibition space of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Kültür AŞ, is among the leading venues that open its doors to a wide variety of audience profiles, thanks to the different art disciplines it hosts. Located as a culture and art stop within the Metro station in Taksim, one of the busiest transportation points of the city, Taksim Art continues to serve with a dynamic curation, giving priority to the modern art world and especially young artists. The “Young Encounters” exhibition stands out as a reflection of this understanding. The exhibition, which met with art lovers with the organization of Kültür AŞ at the Artcontact Istanbul International Contemporary Art Fair held last month, opened its doors this time at Taksim Sanat on June 13. The exhibition, which attracted the attention of many artists and art lovers, awaits its visitors until July 21.

“Young talents will shape the art world of the future”

Stating that he is very happy to host the Young Meetings exhibition, İBB Kültür AŞ General Manager Murat Abbas said:

“As Kültür AŞ, one of the subsidiaries of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, we have always prioritized supporting young artists by glorifying the universal language of art. Today, we are experiencing the excitement of this special exhibition that brings young artists together with you, valuable art lovers. We positioned Taksim Art as a culture and art stop that opens its doors to the world of modern art. In this space, we continue to serve with a dynamic curation, giving priority to young artists. The Young Encounters exhibition stands out as a reflection of this understanding. In the exhibition, which includes many different art disciplines from painting to sculpture, from ceramics to photography, we will witness the concerns and feelings of young artists about life who touch social values. I hope that we will see that the concerns of our young artists and all our young people gradually decrease.
Among the issues we attach importance to are that our young people meet with art, culture and creativity, express themselves freely, share their thoughts and develop their talents. Because we wholeheartedly believe that young talents will shape the art world of the future with their creative energy and innovative perspectives. The opportunities we offer to our young people help them discover themselves and realize their potential, while also contributing to our society building a more colorful, more dynamic and more forward-looking future. With this awareness, we will continue to implement projects that will touch young people in the future and enable them to maximize their potential.”

Abbas also mentioned the "Area Open to Young People" competitions in his speech and stated that the competitions, the first of which was held in the field of painting, continue with the field of media art and that a new competition will be launched in the field of photography in the future.
