A striking art event strengthening the cultural ties between China and Turkey was held at the Maltepe Türkan Saylan Cultural Center. The "Year of the Snake and the Silk Road Painting Exhibition", where more than a hundred works were exhibited, attracted great attention from art lovers.
The doors of a meaningful and magnificent exhibition opened at the Maltepe Türkan Saylan Cultural Center. Maltepe businessman Celal Akgül created an important cultural bridge in this area by bringing Chinese investors and artists to Maltepe.
As part of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the meeting of the "One Belt, One Road Initiative" and the "Middle Corridor" project and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Institute, the "Year of the Snake and the Silk Road Painting Exhibition" was organized in cooperation with Istanbul Okan University, the Association for the Peaceful Unification of China and the Maltepe Municipality. This exhibition, which includes artists from Turkey, China, Russia and various countries invited for the exhibition, aims to bring different cultures together.
This mixed exhibition, which also includes students from China and Okan University, stands out with its theme of "Year of the Snake and the Silk Road". More than a hundred impressive works of art were presented to art lovers in the exhibition.
The organization was brought to life with the efforts of the President of the Peaceful Unification of China Association Abdullah Cin and Vice President Celal Akgül, and with the support of Maltepe Municipality.
The opening of the exhibition was held by the Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul Wu Jian, Abdullah Cin, Chinese officials, Celal Akgül, Vice Mayor of Maltepe Municipality Av. Nimet Karabulut, President of Istanbul Okan University Prof. Dr. Güliz Muğan, Okan University students and Chinese guests. The event, which officially started with the cutting of the ribbon, saw speeches by Wu Jian, Nimet Karabulut, Prof. Dr. Güliz Muğan, Abdullah Cin and Celal Akgül.
The interest in the exhibition was quite intense. Following the promotional tour where the works of art were examined, the authorities and guests took souvenir photos together. "The Year of the Snake and the Silk Road Painting Exhibition" will be open to visitors until February 28.
