The works produced in the workshop, which was brought to life by Arnica Art Land Art Workshop Founder and Advisory Board President Senur Akın Biçer and curated by Fırat Neziroğlu for the 3rd time this year, are now carrying the color, smell and culture of a completely different geography to Mersin. The works produced in the workshop, where colors were transferred to canvas and fabric using different techniques, were presented to art lovers at the Mersin Fine Arts Gallery.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition held at the Mersin Fine Arts Gallery, which attracted great attention, Arnica Art Land Art Workshop Founder and Advisory Board Chair Senur Akın Biçer said the following: “In our journey to prevent art from being confined to big cities, to increase art literacy, and to integrate the name of our beautiful Mersin, which has a very important place for us, with art, it is invaluable for us to feel your support. We held the third Arnica Art Land Art Workshop, which is a tribute to the spirit of my father Hasan Akın, at the Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum in Bayburt. The workshop, which we held between August 11-18 under the curatorship of Fırat Neziroğlu at the Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum, which my valuable friend Kenan Yavuz presented to the village where he was born, brought together beautiful hearts from completely different geographies.
I would like to thank Mr. Fırat and our valuable artists once again in your presence. Another meeting that I wanted and desired very much took place in this exhibition. We took a very good step to make meeting with future artists and organizing various workshops for children receiving art education a part of our workshop. Nearly 30 students studying at Nevit Kodallı Fine Arts High School in Mersin made a study under the leadership of our artist Melike Kara, who was with us in Bayburt. Both their enthusiasm in the workshop and the fact that they listened to what our curator said in the exhibition hall with great attention showed that we were on the right track.”
