A special selection of works from the "Side by Side" exhibition, which sheds light on the artistic lives of Melahat and Eşref Üren, will be open to visitors at the Ankara Art Gallery starting August 1st.
The special selection of works from the "Side by Side" exhibition, which focuses on the artistic lives of Melahat and Eşref Üren, will welcome visitors at the Ankara Art Gallery starting August 1st. The selection of 50 works, compiled from the exhibition which was visited by approximately 100,000 people in Istanbul, will be presented to art lovers in the capital.
The exhibition, which will open at the Ankara Art Gallery located on the third floor of the Museum of Economic Independence in Ulus, explores the artistic production and shared life of Melahat and Eşref Üren, important figures in Turkish painting, from different perspectives.
In addition to paintings, letters and sketches are also included.
The selection, which sheds light on the creative process and personal world of the Üren couple, who settled in Ankara in 1939 and hold an important place in the city's cultural and artistic life, also reflects the harmony in the two artists' shared life, their creative relationship, and the occasional ruptures they experienced.
Free to visit
The exhibition can be visited free of charge every day except Mondays between 10:00 and 18:00 at the Ankara Art Gallery, located within the Museum of Economic Independence in Ulus.
A catalog prepared in Turkish and English accompanying the exhibition is also available to readers, and art workshops for children will be organized during the exhibition.
