The exhibition "Symphony of the Earth," which brings together different disciplines of contemporary art, opened at Galeri Işık Teşvikiye.
According to a statement from the gallery, the exhibition, curated by Zeynep Albeniz Erbelger, addresses the transformation of nature, the traces of time, and the multi-layered structure of the earth.
Inspired by Gustav Mahler's quote, "A symphony should be like the world. It should encompass everything," the exhibition brings together paintings, sculptures, and works in various disciplines by nine artists: Soyhan Baltacı, Serdar Acar, Burak Kutlay, Nilüfer Yıldırım, Nilay Özenbay, Elif Nadas, Merve Güç, Özge Kahraman, and Selin Aral.
In the statement, curator Erbelger noted that the project does not directly represent nature but rather juxtaposes different forms of the relationship with the earth.
Erbelger noted:
"Here, nature is not a background, but an entity that permeates each artwork, sometimes visible, sometimes receding, but always felt. Just like a symphony, meaning emerges not from a single sound, but from the juxtaposition of different sounds, spaces, and encounters. Therefore, we invite visitors not to simply look at nature anew, but to encounter it anew."
The exhibition can be visited until September 10th.
