The International Painting Workshop, a tradition established by the Akçaabat Municipality, will be held for the 12th time this year. The event, which will take place from August 5-12, 2025, will bring together 15 local and international artists.

15 Artists in Akçaabat: Cultures Meet with Art

The Akçaabat district of Trabzon is preparing to host an international art gathering once again. The 12th International Akçaabat Painting Workshop will be held from August 5-12, 2025. Artists from various countries and cities across Turkey will work in Akçaabat for a week. The event will not only support painting but also showcase Akçaabat's historical, cultural, and natural beauty to the world.

The Universal Language of Art Meets in Akçaabat

The workshop, which will feature 15 artists from Kazakhstan, Poland, Ukraine, Kuwait, Georgia, and Turkey, aims to strengthen intercultural interaction through art. The artists will observe Akçaabat's nature, architecture, and people, reflecting these impressions on their canvases. Through open-air workshops, the public will be able to witness the artists' creative processes up close.

Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim: "We Are Building a City That Breathes with Art"

Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim emphasized that the workshop is not just an artistic event but also a visionary project. "Art, with its unifying and healing power, touches the soul of societies. We want Akçaabat to breathe with art and to carry aesthetic traces in every corner. That's why we continue to expand this organization every year," he said. Mayor Ekim emphasized that the workshop both contributes to the district's cultural development and provides a significant opportunity for international promotion.

Art Everywhere with Open-Air Workshops

During the workshop, painters will continue their work by setting up open-air workshops at various locations in Akçaabat. Citizens will be able to visit these spaces and interact directly with the artists and ask questions. This will ensure that art finds a place not only in the exhibition halls but also in everyday life.

A Magnificent Exhibition at the Finale

The works produced during the event will be presented to art lovers at an exhibition opening at the Akçaabat Municipality Art Gallery (Hamamçimeni Çarşısı Floor 1) on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The exhibition will be open to visitors for a period following the opening.

The artists participating in the event, curated by Ekrem Kutlu, include: Bihter Akyol Dayı, Ekaterine Tsintsadze, Hülya Atalay, İlhan Saka, Julia Tomesko, Małgorzata Andrzejewska, Necmettin Özlü, Özcan Kandemir, Pelin Baykal Aktan, Selman Uzun, Serhan Usluğlu, Yüksel Baydar, Yaşar Bedri Özdemir, Waleed Ameer, and Zhamilya Taken.

Akçaabat's Value of Art

With these workshops, the Akçaabat Municipality not only brings artists to the city but also permanently exhibits some of the resulting works in public spaces. Works from previous years now adorn Akçaabat's squares, parks, and galleries, contributing to the district's aesthetic identity.

This major event, designed to foster an Akçaabat that embraces art, culture, and aesthetics, will offer an unforgettable experience for both locals and art lovers.
