The "#Ofreedom" Exhibition, organized by the Turkish Journalists Association, brought the works of 26 artists to art lovers at the TGC Press Museum. The exhibition highlights freedom of the press and expression and is open to visitors until December 12th.

The fourth Visual Arts Exhibition "Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Expression in Turkey," organized by the Turkish Journalists Association (TGC), opened at the TGC Press Museum on Friday, November 21, 2025. The exhibition brought together journalists and art lovers.

The exhibition features paintings, ceramics, sculptures, photographs, caricatures, and collages by 26 artists. Visitors can view the works until December 12, 2025.

TGC President Vahap Munyar highlighted freedom of the press and expression, stating that journalists face pressures such as unjust detention, imprisonment, threats, censorship, and self-censorship. Munyar emphasized that the exhibition highlights the intersection of press freedom and art.

TGC Secretary General Sibel Güneş emphasized the importance of holding the exhibition at the Press Museum. Güneş highlighted the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence technologies on journalism and stated that future journalism must be independent, transparent, and adhere to ethical principles.

The exhibition was curated by Fatma Batukan, President of the Culture and Arts Commission. Batukan stated that the exhibition's aim is to honor the honorable practice of journalists and to draw attention to violations of press freedom.

PEN Writers' Association Vice President Halil İbrahim Özcan expressed solidarity with the arrested journalists and writers and stated that they have issued a statement against violations of press freedom and freedom of expression.

Artists whose works are featured in the exhibition include Ahmet Selim Sabuncu, Atay Gergin, Canan Temizelli, Deniz Çobankent, Deniz Turan, Elhan Ergin, Ercan Arslan, Fatma Batukan Belge, Gülşen Kıbrıslı, Gültekin Çizgen, Güner Sarıoğlu, Hatice Ünlü, İsmet Arslan, Kaan Sağanak, Kadri Özayten, Leyla Tepecik, Mehmet Aksoy, Nihal Sarıoğlu, Rana Altan, Serhat Gökçaylar, Sevgi Gemici, Sibel Sicimoğlu, Tan Oral, Vedat Arık, Zafer Temoçin, and Zuhal Bilginalp.

Trakya University State Conservatory student Beren Bener gave a musical concert at the opening. The event was attended by members of the TGC board of directors and supervisory boards, representatives of press organizations, executives of non-governmental organizations, and art lovers.
