Maçka Sanat Gallery, which has a very important place in Istanbul's art history and will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026, opened the painting exhibition "Transform" by Serhat Kiraz, one of the important names in contemporary Turkish visual arts, the other day.
Artists and art lovers came together at the opening, which was also attended by the venue's architect, 86-year-old Mehmet Konuralp. The artist, who has opened many personal exhibitions at Maçka Sanat, brought together the 10 basic numbers from 0 to 9, which form the basis of the decimal number system, with the three primary colors red, blue and yellow in an algorithmic structure in ten paintings in this first painting exhibition he opened after losing his wife Sebla Kiraz.
Kiraz, who redesigns mathematics, color theory and aesthetics, symbolizes change in 10 colorful patterns, differentiation in four of the other 6 patterns and neutrality in two that are only gray, explaining that everything is systematic
