Who is Yusuf Aydın? (1989-Malatya)Born in Malatya in 1989, Yusuf Aydın completed his undergraduate studies in Art Education at the Faculty of Education, İnönü University, Malatya, between 2010 and 2013. Drawing and creating art was a journey that began in his primary school years. Following this journey, he experimented with various techniques and compositions during his undergraduate studies. After these experiments, he created his own unique style. He began producing his first works in this style during his undergraduate years. In his works, he uses materials obtained from nature, processed and refined using his own technique, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing appearance. After his undergraduate education, he began working as an Art Teacher in 2015. During this time, he gave various seminars to introduce and share art education in various workshops. Following his participation in numerous group exhibitions and the creation of works for various collectors, he continues to produce works with his unique style and technique. Aydın, who blends and shapes the concepts and images he defines with his unique technique, has works on various themes. War, earthquake (in memory of February 6th), utopia, portraits… are some of his series on these themes. The artist exhibited his works in a visual feast at the Adıyaman/Karakuş Tumulus, the capital of the Kingdom of Commagene, which has been home to many civilizations throughout history, and a monumental tomb site built by the Phrygians for the first time for a woman, carrying the traces of the past to the present day. Subsequently, he opened his solo exhibition, “The Silence of the Ruins,” at Kahta Castle, one of the oldest castles in history, used by the Commagene, Roman, Mamluk, Seljuk, and Ottoman empires, blending his works, produced with his unique techniques, with the cultural heritage of the province. He also participated in the “Young Faces of the Republic” exhibition, which took place on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.Artistic Perspective:The artist's aim in producing works is not to repeat what is visible, but to make the invisible tangible. In my view, the artist's task is not to adorn the world in their works, but to lift the veil covering it. A work should not provide an answer to the viewer, but rather prompt them to ask new and bold questions. I see these questions as a space where we can honestly confront ourselves and the universe. The artist does not seek beauty, symmetry, or perfection in every work they produce. True art glorifies not what is flawless, but lived experience and wounds. Sometimes these wounds are disturbing; art is about transforming this discomfort into an aesthetic, awakening the human being. In every work produced by the artist, the greatest authority is the artist's own intuition. Whatever the means, what gives life to the work is the tragedy, hope, and spirit of humanity. Art is a reflection of humanity's "imperfect genius" against perfection. It is born in the moment but aims for eternity. In this context, my view of art can be briefly described as being based on "Balanced Chaos." I believe that art is a balanced chaos born from the harmony of contrasts, imbalances, and imperfections. Within this chaos, art, when necessary; It must be able to build a bridge between the legacy of the past and the uncertainty of the future. It must be able to strike a balance between the limits of logic and the boundless nature of imagination. In other words, in this balance, the work should bear the traces of the moment it was created, but not be confined to that moment. It should unite the pain of yesterday, the chaos of today, and the hope of tomorrow on a single plane.Selected Exhibitions: 2013 - Faculty of Education Student Exhibitions - Malatya 2023 - Young Faces of the Republic - Istanbul 2025 - The Silence of the Ruins I – Karakuş Tumulus - Adıyaman 2025 - The Silence of the Ruins II – Kahta Castle - Adıyaman 2025 - Kahta Marathon Through the Language of Photographs - Adıyaman
