    • Who is Özlem Coşkun? (1977-Ankara)Born in Ankara in 1977, she is originally from Pazarı, Rize. Her interest in painting, which began in childhood, was further developed through academic drawing training. She continues her academic life in the Ceramics Department of Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts. To date, she has participated in numerous solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, and various workshops. While the subjects she addresses in her works may initially appear to be objects and natural reality, they actually carry a meaning beyond this reality. This approach is particularly evident in her "Horse Trainer" series. Although the horse and female figures evoke the real world, in the artist's paintings they cease to be real entities and transform into aesthetic elements; thus becoming plastic elements of the works. The artist's paintings express the transition between the real and the unreal world, that is, an intermediate state and a synthesis process nourished by both realms. This synthesis process also brings abstraction with it. The abstract structure of the works is a natural result of this intermediate state process. Two fundamental intellectual conclusions can be drawn from this synthesis: firstly, the dependence of aesthetic reality on humanity; secondly, the strong relationship between nature and social beings. For aesthetic reality to possess a human and human-dependent quality, it must originate from the artist's intuitions and conscious production process. Therefore, although the subjects the artist addresses are reminiscent of natural reality, they offer a transformed expression rather than a direct reflection. The "Horse Trainer" series is a clear example of this approach. The horse symbol is one of the important and indispensable elements of cultural memory. It has been the subject and object of art in every period of history. The artist continues this tradition by treating the horse figure as a historical and aesthetic symbol; this symbol is one of the dominant characters in the artist's paintings.Selected Exhibitions; January 14-21, 2018 2nd International Tarsus Workshop and Exhibition January 31, 2020 Blue Line Group Exhibition October 24, 2020 Blue Line Art Solo Exhibition January 31, 2020 Participation in Müjdat Gezen Artistic Event 18th Season Group Painting Exhibition March 15, 2023 Alperion Solo Exhibition October 5, 2023 Ukrainian Embassy Ukrainian Turkish Exhibition Symposium October 24-28, 2023 MBA Schools Republic Century Workshop 2022-2023 Season Opening Exhibition 2023-2024 Season Closing Exhibition November 23, 2024 Harmony Exhibition November 25, 2024 Lives Connected by Art Exhibition 2024 New Year Group Exhibition 2024 Selçuk University Ceramics Society Workshop 16.12.2025 Quantum Universe Congress Photo Exhibition
