  Who is Nuray Ekim Atmaca? (1978-Trabzon)Born in the Akçaabat district of Trabzon, Nuray Ekim Atmaca graduated from the Department of Art Education at Fatih Faculty of Education, Karadeniz Technical University. Her art is based on examining nature and attempting to reinterpret it from different perspectives. In her works, shaped by color harmony, texture, and light play, she blends the mystical texture of nature with abstract and stylized figures.The artist, who opened her first solo exhibition in 2013, has participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions. Having completed her master’s degree at Trabzon University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, Atmaca is a member of the KPSD (Black Sea Plastic Arts Association). She continues her artistic production in her own studio.Art Perspective: At the heart of my artistic practice are the cyclical energy of nature, the complexity of collective existence, and the emotional vibrations conveyed by colors. In my works, I blend the freedom of Abstract Expressionism with the familiar forms of Figurative Art, inviting the viewer into an underwater world that is both familiar and mystical.The dance of color and texture is at the forefront of my work. Figurative elements blended with nature’s inherent rhythm and abstract narrative language are prominent in my layered compositions. The energy of the colors and the depth of the textures create a powerful narrative language that reflects the artist’s inner world. Rich textures, geometric forms, and abstract patterns draw the viewer into the painting, taking them on a journey through their own imaginations. The color palette, with its dramatic transitions between warm reds and cool blues, evokes the energy of movement and the cyclical nature. The balance of warm and cool tones in the color transitions reveals nature’s timeless harmony. The calming effect of blue and turquoise, contrasted with pinks and yellows, evokes a sense of vitality. Each painting carries its own rhythm, like a melody echoing through water.
