Author
Who is Mehmet Ciril? (1984-Tokat)Born in 1984 in the Turhal district of Tokat, he completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in the Pazar district. He worked as a graphic designer for a long time in central Tokat. He produced numerous commercials, designed newspaper layouts, and opened an advertising agency. He later graduated from the Department of Fine Arts Painting at Kayseri Erciyes University. During his university years, he developed an interest in portraiture and made a name for himself on television channels and programs by creating portraits of many celebrities (Cem Yılmaz, Beyazıt Öztürk, Deniz Akkaya, Jess Molho, etc.). During his studies, he developed a signature system to prevent his paintings from being imitated in the future. This system consisted of blood, fingerprints, and a traditional signature. This created a nearly inimitable signature, which attracted considerable attention in the press. For a time, he contributed to the Advanced Technical School for Art and Design, providing art consultancy and training, and served as a lecturer. (He voluntarily quit his job because he couldn't find time for painting.) He was accepted to Yeditepe University's Department of Plastic Arts. His first year of graduate studies was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.Art Perspective; The artist explores the human figure in his art. His portraits and figurative works often take him on a journey into the depths of human emotions. This journey often involves him incorporating nature, objects, sometimes cultural elements, and universal values onto his canvases without restraint. For the artist, women are indispensable, sublime beings. Human existence begins with women, and the source of all emotions and aesthetics resides in women. The artist often conveys these emotions on his canvases through realistic, sometimes manipulative, relationships between people and nature, people and objects, people and colors, or, most importantly, the emotions in the eyes through which a person looks at the world. In his nude paintings, which he transfers to canvas with his brush, the artist presents the unattainable aesthetics of a woman's naked body to the viewer while simultaneously allowing us to see the sometimes free, sometimes captive souls within the woman's body. A person is born and ends with an unending identity of body and soul. The sole purpose of art is to touch the souls and hearts of others through figures and portraits on canvas. This is the sole purpose of colors, faces, and the eyes on faces. Art is primarily for people, and a piece of that person should be a part of them.Technically, the artist initially developed an interest in charcoal, creating hyperrealistic portraits. He later fell in love with oil painting and continues to work by combining classical and modern art, utilizing the limitless technique of oil painting.Selected Exhibitions: Kayseri Fine Arts Faculty Solo Exhibition 2021 Artcontact Istanbul Art Fair 2022 Artankara Art Fair 2024 Artankara Art Fair 2025 İAAf İzmir Art Fair Numerous solo and group exhibitions
