Who is Kader Kurtgöz? (2001-Göksun)Kader Kurtgöz was born in 2001 in Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş. In the same year, she was accepted to the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mersin University. In 2020, she transferred to the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Sütçü İmam University and achieved success by participating in many exhibitions and competitions. She is still continuing her art education.Art Perspective:My works aim to deconstruct and reconstruct the complexity of human experience and the dynamism of life. I see the figure not only as a form, but also as a point of energy and time. This series is born from that fragile threshold where a person can even be a guest within themselves. The stranger is no longer someone outside; it’s the face in the mirror, the intangible body, the unbearable past. The figures try to exist within fragmented surfaces. Sharp geometric forms indicate that identity is not fixed; It implies a structure that is constantly dividing, breaking, and being rebuilt. Even in moments of physical contact, there is an invisible distance between them. Closeness simultaneously produces distance. Colors clash: warm tones convey a desire for belonging, cold tones a feeling of exclusion. Each figure cannot fully settle into its space; the ground shifts, the background is not fixed. This is a conscious state of displacement. A person cannot fully settle into either the world or themselves.Children’s faces and adult bodies break on the same plane; innocence and burden, past and present intertwine. Identity hangs over the figures like a heavy suitcase. Bodies bend, stretch, break; because sometimes a person has to change shape while trying to exist in a place where they don’t belong. The figures depict not so much the distance between two people, but the stranger within oneself. Homelessness is not only geographical; it is a spiritual position. And identity is sometimes established through a feeling of incompleteness.Thematic Focus: My portraits and double figures explore universal themes such as individual identity, cultural origin (particularly with Afro-futuristic influences), and human relationships. By presenting these themes through a geometric lens, I invite the viewer to make an unconventional connection.Visual Language: Walking a fine line between metaphor and realism, my main aim is to create an aesthetic harmony and a dynamic composition where each part comes together to tell a holistic story.Awards: 2025 - 102nd Anniversary of the Republic Competition / Exhibition Award / Yenişehir, Mersin.
