Who is Burcu Kaya? (1985-Iğdır)Born in Iğdır, the artist completed their primary and secondary education there. In 2007, they graduated with honors from the Department of Fine Arts Education, Faculty of Education at Gazi University, specializing in Graphic Arts. Between 2007 and 2021, they worked as a Visual Arts Teacher and completed their Master’s degree in 2023 at the Department of Painting, Institute of Social Sciences, Sivas Cumhuriyet University. In addition to working in Traditional Turkish Arts/Ceramics-Tiles, they have participated in various projects, social responsibility initiatives, biennials, workshops, and national/international exhibitions. The artist has published articles and papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals on Turkish Art, Contemporary Art, and Art Sociology. A member of the Traditional Arts Association (NGO) and Eskişehir Art Association, the artist continues their artistic work in Amasya/Merzifon.Art Perspective;Art is a powerful means of tracing the past while offering a critical perspective on contemporary social issues. In this context, the artist’s approach aims to make personal and collective memory visible by merging traditional techniques with contemporary themes. Her practice, shaped through a feminist lens, focuses on the female body, identity, and memory. Working across surfaces such as tiles, ceramics, and canvas, the artist explores concepts like home, cycles, fragility, and resilience.Project;
