Who is Nilgün Suna Coşkun

She was born in Tokat/Zile in 1967. She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Istanbul and then Ankara. He graduated from Gazi University-MEF-Department of Applied Arts Education-Applied Painting Major in 1989. She worked in various schools and between 2003 and 2020 as a Graphic / Photography Department Art-Graphics course teacher and design workshop teacher at Ankara Maturation Institute. In 2012-2013, she received basic and advanced “hot enamel” / “enamel art” techniques training from jewelry and enamel teacher and artist Reyhan DOĞAN and Japanese guest teacher Machico KOIKE at Ankara Olgunlatma Institute. Her greatest desire is to bring this art to a different point than what is known in our country, and to introduce and transfer it to new generations, by making “painting” works with the techniques he has developed, especially in addition to various techniques of enamel art. She entered the literature as the first artist who opened the first personal enamel paintings and wall sculptures exhibition in Turkey. This exhibition is very important for the artist and the art process of our country.

Between 2015 and 2020, he gave courses in various arts and continued his art works at the “Atölye 5. Sokak” art center, which he founded in Ankara Ümitköy. Between 2022 and 2024, he served as a member of the board of directors and president of the art branch of Ankara Art Institution Association and is still a member of the association.

Artistic Perspective
She continues her personal exhibition, design and promotion activities with the duty and responsibility of conveying the importance of art and artists to the next generations, by drawing attention to the point that societies where art and life are intertwined on the way to modernization. The artist questions the reason for existence by examining the color, texture, form and their arrangement in the universe, as well as the relationships of all living things (including humans) with each other, with concepts that also include philosophy. It is unacceptable for art to be kept within any movement, style and uniformity, hindering its main purpose of freedom and liberation, and ignoring the concept of communication and interaction. The artist can write, draw, etc. as she wishes. However, the resulting result must bear the norms and values of art. What originality is and who determines it is a complete mystery. For this reason, unconditional pleasure, freedom and the goal of reaching the masses are the priority of the artist. The artist uses mostly graphic, figurative and lyrical expressions that find their own expression, for the awareness that the harmony that exists with all its visual, auditory, tactile and emotional elements, the traces of the vital process in the universe, which is the most beautiful example of design, is actually as real as all the facts in the life adventure of human life. She describes it with his own language. Acrylic painting, enamel painting (hot enamel) and sculpture/experimental enamel art are primarily her areas of study. She also works with graphic design, jewelry design, recycling project development and presentation techniques, and collage (cut-out) technique with waste collected from dead nature. Her field of interest is macro photography of objects and surfaces (highlighting their form, color and texture identity), especially metal, wood, leather and stone, which wear out, become old and rust due to various effects in the life process.
