Labirent Sanat invites viewers to confront the most primal, fragile, and striking reality of the human body with Nesli Türk's solo exhibition “RAW-HAM,” running from May 16th to July 4th, 2026.

Treating the body not as an aesthetic representation but as a biological "raw" substance full of leaks, the exhibition invites viewers to explore the fragile layers of flesh through forms referencing blood, tissue, and microorganisms. Reading the conflict between nature and culture through a primal life drive (biophilia), “RAW-HAM” makes visible the wild and tactile truth of life that seeps from beneath the cultural shell.

Focusing on lifting the thin veil/skin that civilization has drawn between humanity and its own nature, the exhibition transforms the body from an idealized image into a constantly moving, leaking, and fragmenting biological excavation site. With its strong theoretical foundation ranging from structural anthropology to sociology, philosophy, psychoanalysis, and art, “RAW-HAM” aims to shake the viewer not with an illusion of aesthetic beauty, but with the cold, clinical, and organic truth of existence.

The paintings and sculptures in the exhibition stage the bankruptcy of the disciplined modern body. Cellular overflows, clots, and infections appearing on the canvases signify the tearing of the skin, the protective shield of civilization, and the leakage of the suppressed organic reality held within. Türk's brushstrokes, which transform paint into flesh and raw material, create a destructive dissolution that overturns anthropocentric aesthetics.

Connecting with the body-centered aesthetics of contemporary cinema and art, the exhibition constructs its color palette not as a decorative choice, but as a biological necessity. This language, creating a perception of a warm and seeping surface in the viewer, literally transforms that deep and unsettling instinct towards life and the living into a tactile experience.

Nesli Türk's "RAW-HAM" exhibition, which pulls the viewer out of the comfortable construct of civilization and leaves them alone with the biological origins of their desires, the dark aspects of their existence, and their shadow, can be visited at Labirent Sanat between May 16 and July 4, 2026.
