Who is Memiş Aslan?

Memiş Aslan, who received training from Devrim Erbil, Reşat Atalık and Güngör Taner, was involved in many projects including ceramic panels, mosaic works, bronze and copper reliefs, sculptures and monuments. The art career of the successful artist is as follows;

He was born in Isparta in 1949. He entered the İDGSA Master’s Department of Painting in 1969 and completed it with a Master’s degree in 1974, receiving full marks from the Board of Professors at the Graduation Competition. Between 1969 and 1970, she received training from Devrim ERBİL, Reşat ATALIK and Güngör TANER at the Pattern Workshop under the direction of Bedri Rahmi EYÜBOĞLU. Between 1970 and 1974, he received training from Sabri BERKEL in the applied engraving workshop and from Kemal BİLENSOY in the Fresco – Scrafito workshop.

Since 1972, he has participated in numerous artistic activities with external and internal, group and group exhibitions, as well as more than twenty personal exhibitions. Between 1976 and 1995, he participated in international group exhibitions in Nicosia – TRNC, New York, Philadelphia and Bucharest – Romania. Since 1972, he has been involved in many projects, including ceramic panels, mosaic works, bronze and copper reliefs, sculptures and monuments. He was deemed worthy of the State Fine Arts Academy Can İren First Prize (1974), the Master’s Graduation Competition First Prize (1974) and the Darüşşafaka Art Award (1973).

Within the scope of his administrative duties, he served as the Founding Art Advisor of the Istanbul State Fine Arts Gallery of the Ministry of Culture between 1974 and 1977, and served as the Tekirdağ Provincial Cultural Director of the Ministry of Culture between 1997 and 2001.

Memiş Aslan, who is also a member of UPSD International Plastic Artists Association, worked as a lecturer at Yıldız Technical University and Doğuş University. He currently teaches at Yeni Yüzyıl University and continues his work in his workshop in Istanbul.
