In Antalya, a city steeped in the ancient culture of the Mediterranean, a new and modern art center has opened: Mas Art Gallery, bringing distinguished examples of contemporary Turkish art to art lovers. Founded by graphic artist Nilgün Songur, Mas Art Gallery will present "Spectrum" on November 25th, featuring exclusive works by masters of Turkish painting Resul Aytemür, Zahit Büyükişliyen, Yalçın Gökçebağ, and Mahir Güven. Curated by art writer İbrahim Karaoğlu, the exhibition will be on display until December 25th.
Each artist brings their own unique touch to the "Spectrum" exhibition. Works by master artists working in similar periods come together to create a powerful harmony. The works nourish each other, transforming into a spectrum of new layers of meaning.
Mas Art Gallery, which aims to bring together original masters of contemporary Turkish art through individual and conceptual exhibitions, embarks on a mission to create a high-quality, enduring, and lasting artistic memory. This approach, which sees each exhibition as a space for thought and each work as a testimony to the raison d'être of art, shapes the gallery's unique identity.
The gallery's founder and director, Nilgün Songur, expresses Mas Art's vision with these words: "I want Mas Art Gallery to be a space for art, which is a way for people to multiply themselves. As a creative center where light, color, and spirit intersect, we will continue to bring the energy, enthusiasm, and magnificence of art to art lovers."
Nilgün Songur, a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts who is thrilled and happy to realize her dream, began her speech by saying, "This gallery is my story," emphasizing that she began her artistic journey by studying graphic design. Songur continued:
The direction of a line, the meaning of a space, the balance of a form—they can all tell an emotion, a story. I loved finding those stories and reconstructing them in my own language. For me, agriculture is not just a profession; it's a way of looking at the world. This gallery is a space transformed into expressions. Here, you'll find not only the works of others, but also the colors, forms, and rhythms of my inner world.
