The "In the Depths of the Surface" exhibition, which opened at Taksim Sanat, a public exhibition space affiliated with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culture Inc., will continue to welcome art lovers free of charge until June 21st due to high demand.
Bringing together established and young artists, the "In the Depths of the Surface" exhibition invites viewers to explore the surface not as an end, but as the ground for new beginnings. Curated by Deha Çun, the exhibition treats the surface not merely as the limit of what is visible, but as a multi-dimensional space where traces, layers, and memory accumulate. Bringing together artists from different generations, the selection explores both the physical and intellectual depth of the surface through painting, sculpture, photography, and works from various disciplines.
Composed of approximately 60 works by 20 artists, including international artists, the exhibition invites the viewer to look beyond the visible through the relationships between color, form, material, and technique. Approaches such as layering, erasing, leaving traces, and simplification create a common dialogue throughout the exhibition with the artists' unique production practices.
