The exhibition will continue until January 3, 2025.

24 painters who came together in Rize to emphasize the importance of art and creativity opened a painting exhibition called “Small Works for New Year”, which includes 74 works made in different techniques.

The painting exhibition called “Small Works for New Year” was presented to art lovers in Rize. Curated by Ayşe Uzunhasanoğlu Pirpir, the exhibition exhibits 74 works made by 24 artists dealing with different subjects. Pirpir said the following about the exhibition:

“Small works exhibitions are held in large galleries in our country on New Year’s. Many artists meet with the public with many works. Here, we, together with 24 friends and participants, brought approximately 74 paintings together with the people of our city. When we made the decision, we had one month left, all the works will be done in a short time like one month and the paint on the brush of all of them has not dried yet. We see the artist's own identity and understanding in each work and we witness a complete visual feast with 24 artists.

Bringing together many works is like sitting people at a very delicious table. We see that our artists use different materials and techniques in their works here, we see that they set out from certain thoughts and emotions. Some of our artists take nature as their subject, some reinterpret nature from their own photographs, some paint their designs based on their profession, fashion. Some of our friends are sculptors, they choose to reflect their three-dimensional works on canvases in a more minimalist form. Especially abstractions express their own works, their emotional worlds are very rich. They all continue to paint with great sacrifices. Why great sacrifices, because it is quite difficult to continue art while living in a small province with both space problems and economic difficulties."

"Atatürk held the artist in high esteem by saying 'an artist does not kiss hands, he makes others kiss hands'"
Visual arts teacher, modeler and stylist Süreyya Canpulat, who stated that Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk also gave great importance to art, said, "We participated in our exhibition here with 24 of our friends, we have beautiful works. Each one is original. We included portraits of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. As we know, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gave great importance to art and held the artist in high esteem by saying 'an artist does not kiss a hand, he makes others kiss a hand'.

The painting exhibition titled "Yılbaşı Small Works" will continue until January 3, 2025. (ANKA)
