İclal Erentürk Güçsav's solo exhibition titled "Depth" opened at Evrim Art Gallery in Istanbul.
Curated by İlayda Uzunarslan, the exhibition invites viewers to explore the artist's inner differences and narrative language.
The exhibition, which opened on April 18, 2026, features a selection of Güçsav's recent works. It will be open to visitors until May 6, 2026.
Individual experience and collective memory meet
"Depth" presents a narrative where individual experience and collective memory intertwine. In the works featured in the exhibition, storage is sharply divided into surfaces within systems, while contrasts transform, producing multiplying meanings.
The artist's relationship with the surface deepens through techniques such as scraping, erasing, and abrasion, with each layer transforming into a living structure containing the previous one. This approach offers the viewer not only a visual experience but also a comprehensive one that progresses through memory, time, and transformation.
Curator Uzunarslan: “The Transmission of the Orderly”
Curator İlayda Uzunarslan states that the exhibition confronts the viewer with a more fragile and multi-layered inner world by carrying the dispersions of the simple. According to Uzunarslan, the works blur the boundaries between the personal and the collective, thus making the viewer an active participant.
A Personal Narrative from the Artist
İclal Erentürk Güçsav states that in the exhibition, she expands an internal research narrative through the connections she establishes with others. The artist notes that the fragmented nature of the time of her recent loss is reflected in the works, and the intertwining of brightness is evident.
With her exhibition "Depth," Güçsav points to how a personal grief can transform into a shared space of memory and empathy, dedicating her works to the memory of her late father, Interior Architect Cemil Aytaç Erentürk.
The exhibition, "Depth," invites the viewer not only to wander through an exhibition space but also to confront their own inner world.
The exhibition will be open to visitors at the Evrim Art Gallery in Kadıköy, Istanbul, until May 6, 2026.
