Who is Hüseyin Ergil? (1982-Denizli)

He was born in Denizli in 1982. He graduated from Pamukkale University Fine Arts Education Department of Painting-Work Teaching in 2005.

After the earthquake he experienced in Van in 2011, he won the second prize in the painting competition titled “Tremors in My Heart – Traces of the Earthquake”. In 2012, he opened his personal exhibitions titled “100 Portraits – 100 Smiling Faces” in Ankara and Van in memory of the teachers who lost their lives in the Van earthquake. He won honor and achievement awards by turning his exhibitions into aid campaigns. In addition to the personal exhibitions he opened, he also took part in mixed exhibitions. He currently continues his work in Sarıgöl district of Manisa, where he works.
Art Perspective;
His paintings mainly feature portraits of Atatürk. Hüseyin Ergil, who draws his portraits by scribbling, aims to add movement to his portraits without destroying these lines. The artist thinks that lines are in a constant search in his works, and that this search, which starts with a dot, turns into different figures along the way. For him, he sets out from a simple scribble, finds new discoveries in life, and aims to capture the characters of different portraits, and in a way, reveals the complexity of his inner world in his art. He says that it is a great excitement to transform ordinary lines into works of art in an extraordinary way, going beyond the boundaries. He states in his works that lines are not actually the same as each work before, and that they create a personality, just like a fingerprint.
