Organized by Beypazarı Municipality and Vakıf 19 Çorumlular Foundation in cooperation, “Hittites New Year Exhibition in Beypazarı” opened today at the historical Suluhan caravanserai.
The opening of the exhibition was held at 16:30 with the participation of Mayor Dr. Özer Kasap, Vakıf 19 Çorumlular Foundation Board of Directors Chairman Alper Bilan and art lovers.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Vakıf 19 Çorumlular Foundation Board of Directors Chairman Alper Bilan noted the following:
“We are here with the steps taken by the mayor for art and artists. I would like to thank Mr. Mayor Dr. Özer Kasap, because these are the days when art and artists are given more importance here. This exhibition is about the Hittites, one of the Anatolian civilizations. In this exhibition, we want to spread peace and love everywhere. Because at one time, the Kadeş Peace Treaty was signed by the Hittites. The first written agreement signed in Anatolia. We are trying to reach all art lovers with love and art everywhere. I thank you.”
Mayor Dr. Özer Kasap made the following statement after the opening ribbon cutting.
“We are truly honored to see the valuable works of our country’s valuable artists exhibited here in Beypazarı. As my esteemed professors have stated, this will be the beginning. I believe that we will open it together with your support in the upcoming process, in terms of exhibiting beautiful works.”
The exhibition, which includes around 70 works, will remain open for art lovers to see in the historical Suluhan caravanserai until January 04, 2025:
The artists whose paintings were in the exhibition informed visitors about their paintings, while Gazi University Painting and Crafts Education Department Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kerim Laçinbay also took part in the exhibition with his works and noted that they expected the exhibition to attract attention in the historical inn during the period it will be open.
In addition, Dr. Ali Düzgün, whose paintings are included in the exhibition, made the following statements:
“This painting is a picture of our women in a dialogue, in a conversation. I worked in acrylic painting technique. I painted as a composition. In my 55-year art life, I was doing more figurative works. I mostly try to depict Anatolian women and urban women. I am one of the painters who deal with the subject of women in Turkish painting.”
