The "Beyond Traces" Group Painting Exhibition, curated by Vedat Akdamar and Şenay Akdamar and directed by Tamer Levent, has opened at Gallery Eyüpsultan. Featuring works by Selda Salman Acar, Pınar Tuba Biçmen, Handan Korkmaz, Reyhan Uludağ, Pınar Kuseyri, and Ayla Gürkan Sarıçlı, the exhibition was opened with a ceremony held at Gallery Eyüpsultan.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayors Özgür Nemutlu and Hasan Karabulut on behalf of Eyüpsultan Mayor Dr. Mithat Bülent Özmen.
Before the exhibition opened, dance performances by groups participating in the Anatolian Dream Meeting of Cultures International Dance Festival captivated the audience in the garden of Gallery Eyüpsultan.
Following the performances, Özgür Nemutlu said: "Eyüpsultan has been a point where cultures have merged for centuries. We call it the 'Holy District.' I am very proud to be organizing this beautiful 'Anatolian Dream Cultures Meeting' program in this meaningful city. I thank everyone who contributed. I respectfully greet you on behalf of our President, Dr. Mithat Bülent Özmen," he said.
Regarding the exhibition, Özgür Nemutlu said: "I want to remind you that the district of Eyüpsultan, where we are located, has the most works by Mimar Sinan. Today, we are in a district that has been a center and a cradle of art for centuries. We will soon be seeing some very important examples of contemporary Turkish painting by our six artists. I want to thank each and every one of them who contributed to this exhibition. I wish you many more years of artistic success."
In his speech, the exhibition's artistic director, Tamer Levent, emphasized that some countries have principles, and these principles are known by everyone in the world. He said, "I think Eyüpsultan is a place that should be known by everyone in the world. But how will it be known? Of course, with activities like this. Eyüpsultan should always be engaged in gatherings centered on the concept of art. This place should become a pearl, a diamond. We call the mindset necessary for this achievement art," he said.
Theater actress Dilek Türker, who took the podium at the opening ceremony, said, "Being surrounded by the power of art is very important. I consider this place to be a magical, magical, and peaceful place. Eyüpsultan has left significant cultural and philosophical traces for humanity. Existence without art was not possible even in primitive societies. Human history has progressed alongside art. I would like to thank Eyüpsultan Mayor Mithat Bülent Özmen and his team, who provide opportunities for people to connect with art, who love art and love their country." Because they work with great dedication," he said.
Following the speeches, Özgür Nemutlu and Hasan Karabulut presented plaques to the dance groups participating in the Anatolian Dream Meeting of Cultures International Dance Festival and to the artists participating in the "Beyond Traces Group Painting Exhibition."
