Eskişehir-based painter Fatma Garip has opened her painting exhibition titled 'Square Root-K'. The exhibition, held at the Eskişehir Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate Fine Arts Gallery, features 17 works for art enthusiasts.
Painter Fatma Garip uses mixed techniques and different materials in her works. Her paintings, created using embroidery on lace, blend traditional and contemporary elements, reflecting her personal experiences and the traces of both the external world and subjective reality. In these works, the artist emphasizes abstract and linear expressions.
Garip centers her art on the idea of 'making what exists visible,' expressing her defiant stance towards life through her works. By combining the memory of lace with her artistic understanding, she strives to create a new link between the past and the present on every surface she works on. She continues her artistic production in her studio, 'Fatma Garip Workshop,' which she established in Eskişehir.
The artist states that each square composition in this exhibition offers a glimpse into the layers of the essence. While presenting these glimpses of the essence, she defines its boundaries through the use of the square space. The exhibition attracted interest from art lovers and enriched Eskişehir's cultural and artistic life.
