Zeynep Art Gallery opened the personal exhibition of the late Ergun Yücel. The exhibition attracted great attention from art lovers.
Gallery owner Zeynep Cengiz said the following about the exhibition: “I am very happy to open the personal exhibition of Ergun Yücel, may he rest in peace. The exhibition consists of 25 works of the artist worked on canvas in different techniques.
The exhibition can be visited every day between 10.00 and 18.00, except Sundays. The last day of the exhibition is Saturday, December 2. We welcome all art lovers to our exhibition.”
Who is Ergun Yücel?
The artist, whose interest in painting began in his childhood, joined the Painters Guild in Boca Raton, Florida, in 2001, after working as an art director in advertising agencies for a while. After taking part in many group exhibitions, he opened personal exhibitions.
1965-68 Before television, he wrote and directed commercials for cinemas.
He studied advertising at Syney-Australia between 1969-72.
1972-73 He worked on indor (Murals, collages) and external murals in Sydney.
He worked as the art director of his own business at an advertising agency in Istanbul between 1975-80.
1980-95 He drew textile patterns and transferred them to fabrics using the screen printing technique.
Between 1969 and 2002, he made art studies in the Far East, Austria, Africa, North and South America, and the artist turned to painting, which gradually became his only occupation... You catch incomprehensible and different breezes in Ergun Yücel's paintings. And the artist finally returns to Turkey in 2002 and settles in Bodrum.
Ergun Yücel passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, in the hospital where he was treated for a long time. A star has fallen in the Art World.
