Invites us to examine time from a gender perspective
While Benal Dikmen brings mythological narratives back to the agenda in Trojan Women, she invites the audience to examine the time we live in from a gender perspective. Dikmen, who thinks that mythological narratives demand to be transferred to our age and should be reinterpreted according to today's thoughts, new art fields and techniques, created the works that make up the exhibition by cutting and cutting anonymous 19th century photographs. The artist collaborated with the artist duo Ahmet Rüstem Ekici and Hakan Sorar during the transformation of the collages into videos. The collages, consisting of anonymous female figures and various objects containing symbolism, were digitally assembled on a horizontal plane and then printed on large fabrics.
