The Kuşadası Ada Modern Art Gallery has begun hosting the group exhibition "Coast: Proximity - Distance." Opened in collaboration with "Piramid Art," founded by master artist Bedri Baykam, the exhibition features works by eight artists, each distinguished in their own field.
Opened in collaboration with the Kuşadası Municipality and the Kuşadası Golden Pigeon Culture, Arts and Promotion Foundation (KUSAV), the Ada Modern Art Gallery continues to bring together masters of art in Kuşadası, Turkey's tourism capital. As part of this initiative, the group exhibition "Coast: Proximity - Distance" opened with a cocktail reception at the Ada Modern Art Gallery. The opening of the exhibition, which featured works by eight leading Turkish artists, was attended by Kuşadası Deputy Mayor Ayşegül Dağlı, KUSAV President Levent Köylü, painter and writer Bedri Baykam, Mehmet Nuri Göçen Culture, Education and Arts Foundation President Naile Göçen Çukurova, exhibition curator Elif Baş, and numerous art lovers. Speaking at the opening, KUSAV President Levent Köylü said, “Dear art friends, Ada Modern Art Gallery is once again delighted to host very special artists and invaluable works. Today is a very hot day in Kuşadası, but thanks to the coolness of art, we feel very welcome. I would like to thank Bedri Baykam, founder of Piramid Sanat, and Naile Göçen for making this valuable exhibition possible.” Online art courses

Painter and writer Bedri Baykam said, “The works in the exhibition belong to very important artists, but they also have immense dedication, sacrifice, and support behind them. I have 35 years of experience in the arts. Living with artists is very difficult. For me, the most important thing is that My wife is my support. I work 20 hours a day and only sleep four. Being in the Aegean and Kuşadası is a real pleasure for me. I've always seen the Aegean people as enlightened, contemporary, art-loving, and Kemalist. That's why I'm so happy to be here with you. I believe we will overcome these difficult times our country is going through with art and solidarity,” he said.

The exhibition, which will be on view at the Ada Modern Art Gallery until September 1st, visualizes the two opposing states of individual and collective existence: closeness and distance—in other words, connection and isolation—through the unique perspectives of artists Şevval Başalan, Bedri Baykam, Deniz Gökduman, Aslı Işıksal, Mustafa Karyağdı, A. Halim Kulaksız, Cüneyt Özalp, and Mehmet Özenbaş. These eight artists, each notable in their respective disciplines, are: While creating meanings that circulate on the shores through painting, sculpture, and various other means of expression, it offers the viewer a space to question both their own inland shores and social distances.
