The solo exhibition titled "Dolce Vita," organized to bring art to art lovers in Ankara, has begun. Curated by Berna Demirhan, Alp Bartu's solo exhibition is on display at Timora Art Gallery from May 2, 2026 to May 23, 2026.

What Alp Bartu offers us is a way of experiencing life. Dolce Vita, therefore, is a visual reflection on happiness. At the same time, his works are an attitude of accepting life; he brings the flow of daily life to his works in a slower, more conscious, and aesthetic way. Sweet Life opens the entire narrative to the joy of life as a state of being able to see the beauty of moments even in their transience. The Dolce Vita exhibition transforms the act of remembering itself into an experience. Bartu's paintings trace moments selected from daily life, but whose temporal weight has unexpectedly intensified. These moments come into being through their reconstructed forms in the mind. Bicycles, dancing figures, shores, interiors, and crowds appear as recurring images. However, these are not fixed representations of the past. On the contrary, they are images that circulate, transform, and gain continuity within the present. In Bartu's works, time loses its linear flow; the past, present, and possible future exist together, translucently. At this point, painting is a practice of seeing. Each subject constructs its own world. There is no one-way relationship between Bartu and the work. While the artist constructs the painting, the painting also constructs him. What emerges is a moving narrative. This multiplicity is most clearly visible in the relationship established with music. The works approach an auditory experience. The figures become carriers of rhythms. However, beneath this rhythm, there is a constantly operating contrast between crowd and solitude. The figures are often together but do not touch each other. This is covered in the paintings with bright and vibrant colors; But a careful glance reveals a subtle melancholy.
The female figures are at the center of this world. They are players in powerful emotional fields.
Their relationship with color makes them both concrete and abstract. With a red dress, joy, sorrow, desire, and memories can coexist simultaneously. Therefore, Bartu's figures exist through what they evoke. The space is the carrier of this evocation. Figures that are compressed, concentrated, and approaching in interior spaces loosen, open up, and move away in exterior spaces. Perspective creates a depth that draws the viewer into the painting.
