Metropolitan Municipality Culture Inc., has been extended until June 21, 2026, due to the overwhelming interest it has received.

Curated by Deha Çun, the exhibition treats the surface not merely as the boundary of the visible world, but as a multi-layered space where traces, layers, and memory accumulate. Bringing together artists from different generations, the selection explores both the physical and intellectual dimensions of the concept of surface through painting, sculpture, photography, and interdisciplinary works.

Composed of approximately 60 works by 20 artists, including international artists, the exhibition invites the viewer to look beyond the visible through the relationships between color, form, material, and technique. Approaches such as layering, erasure, leaving traces, and simplification create a common ground for dialogue in the artists' unique production practices.

The exhibition “In the Depths of the Surface” features works by Nimet Babanoğlu & Fatih Bozkurt, Jéssica Burrinha, Melis Cantürk, Eylül Civelek, Ersan Deveci, Osman Dinç, İrfan Erdal, Emin Mete Erdoğan, Mesut Karakış, Hasan Kıran, Burak Kutlay, Haydar Lale, Mehmet Öğüt, Günnur Özsoy, Burcu Perçin, Miguel Rodrigues, Ahmet Sarı, Emre Tura, Mehmet Ali Yıldız, and Semih Zeki.

Bringing together established and emerging artists under one roof, the exhibition offers art lovers a unique experience, demonstrating that the surface is not merely an end, but the ground for new beginnings.

The “In the Depths of the Surface” exhibition can be visited free of charge at Taksim Sanat until June 21, 2026.
