The 40-year legacy of Türkiye's first private art museum has been revived in a historic flour mill dating back to 1895 in İzmir's Alsancak district. Restored with a modern museum approach, the 6,000-square-meter complex, now named "Yaşar Museum," awaits art lovers as the city's new cultural and artistic hub with its rich collections, exhibition spaces, and social facilities.

The Yaşar Museum, brought to life through the restoration of a historic flour mill from 1895 in İzmir with a modern museum approach, has begun welcoming art enthusiasts. Established in 1985 as Turkey's first private art museum and serving for 40 years, the S. Yaşar Painting Museum and Art Gallery's collection has been expanded and moved to its new location in the Alsancak Port area, a historic building registered as a "Protected Immovable Cultural Heritage Site."

The museum, with a total indoor area of 6,000 square meters, is conceived as a vibrant cultural center. The complex includes 2,600 square meters of permanent and temporary exhibition space, as well as a 350-seat conference hall, library, cafeteria, social areas, and a museum shop. Offering a rich cultural selection to visitors in its permanent exhibition areas, the museum houses the DYO Retrospective Exhibition, the Archaeological Artifact Collection, and the Carpet and Rug Collection. In addition to temporary exhibitions, the museum aims to provide a multifaceted cultural environment with panels, conferences, talks, and children's events.
