Türk Telekom, a pioneer in Turkey's digital transformation, continues to bring 5G technology together with culture and art. Developing innovative applications in line with its "5G for Everyone" vision, Türk Telekom presented the "Devrim Erbil Digital Painting Exhibition" to art lovers at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), which it primarily supports. The opening, hosted by Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin, showcased an innovative exhibition experience where real and virtual environments could be experienced simultaneously using 5G technology. As part of this project, a world first, the physical exhibition space established at AKM was modeled in a virtual reality (VR) environment and transferred to the digital world. The works of Devrim Erbil, a State Artist and master of Turkish painting, interpreting Istanbul's iconic structures in his unique style, were exhibited in a 5G-enabled VR environment. Through a specially created avatar, the artist walked alongside visitors within the paintings, explaining his works live. The exhibition, where the real and virtual worlds merged simultaneously, offered a unique experience that transformed visitors from mere viewers and listeners into active participants, guided by the artist as they explored the artwork.
Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin, in his assessment of the exhibition, stated: “As Türk Telekom, we are pioneers in the 5G era, just as we have been in every era of communication. With the investments we have made for many years and the innovative applications we have developed, we position 5G not just as a technology, but as a leverage that transforms a wide ecosystem ranging from industry to art, education to health. Today, we are delighted to bring to life the Devrim Erbil Digital Painting Exhibition, a concrete reflection of this vision. With this special project, which aims to reach a wider audience by bringing together the art of Devrim Erbil, one of our country's most valuable artists who has left his mark on Turkish painting with his unique style and works, with new generation technologies, we have created an innovative model where art and technology are intertwined and the real and virtual worlds are experienced simultaneously. As Türk Telekom, we are building the digital world of the future today with the opportunities offered by 5G.”

Within the scope of the project, the works of State Artist Devrim Erbil, who interprets Istanbul's iconic structures in his unique style, were presented to art lovers in a physical space, while simultaneously being transferred to a virtual reality (VR) environment thanks to the high speed and low latency advantages of 5G technology. Thus, visitors experienced not just viewing, but being immersed in the artwork, embarking on a multi-layered journey within Istanbul's captivating skyline. The exhibition, which transforms the potential of 5G technology in the fields of culture and art into a tangible experience, reveals Türk Telekom's vision for the future.
“We are transforming every aspect of life with 5G”
Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin said, “As Türk Telekom, we are at the forefront of the 5G era, just as we have been in every era of communication. With our long-standing infrastructure investments and innovative applications, we position 5G not just as a technology, but as a strategic leverage that transforms a wide ecosystem from industry to art, from education to health. While building Turkey's digital future, we focus on producing social benefit and realize this vision with concrete projects. The Devrim Erbil Digital Painting Exhibition is a strong reflection of this approach. With this project, we contribute to making art independent of space by bringing Devrim Erbil's works together with a 5G-supported digital environment, creating a new generation interaction space between the artist and art lovers. This model, where the real and virtual worlds can be experienced simultaneously, transforms 5G's high speed, low latency, and advanced connectivity capabilities into a tangible experience, while also paving the way for new generation applications in the field of culture and art. As Türk Telekom, we are building the digital world of the future today with the opportunities offered by 5G.” "We are continuing," he said.
A seamless and real-time art experience with 5G technology for the first time in the world
5G, which forms the technological infrastructure of the exhibition, brought together the physical and digital worlds simultaneously with its ultra-low latency, high speed, and wide capacity advantages. Visitors could move freely within the works depicting Istanbul's iconic structures; they could orient themselves towards any point and examine the details instantly in very high resolution. Thanks to the fluidity provided by 5G, the experience took place in a seamless and natural flow, making the connection with art deeper and more impressive.
