The "A Spring Day" group exhibition has opened its doors at the Istiklal Art Gallery. Bringing together works from 35 artists across various disciplines, the exhibition explores spring not merely as a season, but as a state of transformation, hope, and inner movement.
Implemented by the New Generation Artists Platform (BASE) and hosted by Beyoğlu Municipality, the "A Spring Day" group exhibition is open to art lovers. Running from February 26th to March 22nd at the Istiklal Art Gallery, the exhibition brings together contemporary works that address spring as a state of transformation and inner movement. The exhibition features works by 35 artists who have participated in various BASE editions since 2017.
FROM PAINTING TO SCULPTURE, FROM PHOTOGRAPHY TO TEXTILES: DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES COME TOGETHER
This mixed exhibition, titled "A Spring Day," focuses on this transitional moment where individual and collective experiences gain visibility in parallel with the awakening of nature. Works from different disciplines, ranging from painting to sculpture, photography to textiles, ceramics to installation, bring together fragility, hope, waiting, transformation, and inner movement in a multi-layered narrative. Spring here is treated not as a romantic ideal, but as a possibility seeping through cracks, the emergence of the repressed to the surface, an inner calling.
INVITING ART LOVERS TO LISTEN TO THEIR OWN SPRING, THEIR OWN THRESHOLD
The works in the exhibition invite the viewer to slow down and observe through physical and metaphorical relationships with nature, the memory of the body, the traces of time, and spatial experiences. Sometimes through the silence of a flower, sometimes through the trace carried by a surface, sometimes through a moving form, spring... It is reconsidered not as a single moment, but as a constantly evolving state. Rather than offering definitive answers, *A Spring Day* creates an intuitive and open-ended space for encounter, embracing transience. It invites the viewer to listen to their own spring, their own threshold.
