Sevil Dolmacı Gallery presents Elvan Alpay's solo exhibition, Pánta Rheî / İşler – Works 2021–2025, which she has launched after a long hiatus. Taking its title from Heraclitus's philosophical fragment, summarized by the phrase "everything flows," the exhibition considers flow not merely as a metaphor but as a behavioral pattern inherent in the nature of matter.

Elvan Alpay's exhibition of new works from the last five years will be presented to art enthusiasts at Sevil Dolmacı Gallery from December 2, 2025, to January 3, 2026. In Alpay's canvases, pigment, acrylic, glass powder, and light transcend mere materials and become part of a physical event. In this context, the painting is presented to the viewer not as an object, but as a "current," a state of being.

Elvan Alpay's works are currently included in the collections of institutions such as the Fondation Cartier (Paris), the Mitsubishi Foundation (Tokyo), and the OMM Odunpazarı Modern Museum (Eskişehir), as well as prominent collections at Koç, Sabancı, Eczacıbaşı, Akbank, Alarko, QNB Finansbank, Yıldız Holding, Arçelik, Boyner, ENKA, and TurkishBank. In this exhibition, the artist updates existing institutional memory with the idea of "matter in motion," transforming painting from a finished image into a visual record of processes such as rupture, evaporation, seepage, and solidification.

Winner of the 2006 Beijing Biennale Grand Prize, Alpay has a multi-layered exhibition history spanning from Paris to Tokyo, London to New York. However, Pánta Rheî offers a holistic selection where the artist's works produced after 2021 can be seen together for the first time. The speeding physics of dragonflies, the subterranean intelligence of mushrooms, the maps of leaf veins, and light rays trapped in acrylic form the world of this exhibition.

Alpay's practice rejects the "representation of nature," inviting nature itself into the painting. As the artist puts it: "I don't choose motifs. They act; I record them."

Pánta Rheî / İşler – Works 2021–2025 is not a subject exhibition; it is a field of experimentation. The viewer witnesses not a fixed image, but a continuous process of becoming. This exhibition proposes not to look at the painting, but to be swept away by its current.
