Bozcaada-based painter Pınar Tınç brings together her personal story with the region where she hails from with her exhibition themed around renewal.
Pınar Tınç, a painter who works with ink, a technique rarely seen in Turkey, has opened a new exhibition at the Bozcaada Itırlı Bahçe Art Gallery. Curated by Uğur Batı, the exhibition, titled "Regeneration," showcases the artist's works, inspired by nature and island life.
Spirit, Mind, Body...
In her work, Tınç focuses on the trilogy of "soul, mind, and body," bringing traces of nature to her canvases with rainbow hues, mystical symbols, and rich textures. Tınç, speaking about the exhibition, said, "I present art enthusiasts with the most beautiful examples of nature, such as the island, birds, and flora, combined with the imagination I've accumulated in different parts of the world." He added that he reflects the unique spirit of being an islander in his works.
Born on Bozcaada and having spent a significant portion of his life there, the artist also stated that this spirit aligns with acceptance and the ability to find joy in small things. Tınç, one of whose works has been purchased by the French Council, will share his artistic journey as a TEDx speaker in November. The artist, who has held solo and group exhibitions for over 25 years, also organizes workshops on India ink at his studio in Kadıköy. The exhibition "Renewal," which was opened by Bozcaada Mayor Yahya Göztepe, along with island residents and numerous art lovers, will be on view at the Bozcaada Itırlı Bahçe Art Gallery until September 15th.
