The famous French Pop Art artist Jisbar, whose real name is Jean-Baptiste Launay, met with art lovers from Istanbul for the first time at Kalyon Kültür Taş Konak. The 'Jisbar in Istanbul' exhibition, consisting of a total of 20 works and 40 original prints inspired by Istanbul, can be visited free of charge between 8 November 2023 and 14 February 2024.

Kalyon Culture, a young social meeting place nourished by the ties established by today's cultural and artistic production with the past; It continues to host events in different disciplines of art. Kalyon Kültür now hosts Jisbar, who is known for personalizing famous figures of classical art and reinterpreting them with modern pop-art art.
Art lovers showed great interest in the opening of the 'Jisbar in Istanbul' exhibition, which reflected the unique atmosphere and colorful world of Istanbul, on Tuesday, November 7. Jisbar, who worked on racing cars and helmets in honor of names such as MotoGP World Champion Fabio Quartararo, WeatherTech SportsCar Racing champion Pipo Derani and famous Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, also performed live on a helmet at the exhibition, which was appreciated by the guests.

“I was fascinated by Istanbul when I came to it for the first time”
Jisbar had previously attracted attention by sending an original version of the Mona Lisa painting, which he reinterpreted, into space to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death.

Jisbar, who met with Turkish art lovers for the first time on the occasion of his exhibition titled "Jisbar in Istanbul" at Kalyon Kültür, expressed his feelings; “This is my first time in Istanbul. I researched Istanbul a lot while making my works. Istanbul has a dazzling beauty and a fascinating mystical atmosphere. This city, which has hosted many civilizations and has a treasure hidden in every inch of its land, impressed me greatly. As I immersed myself in the rich history and magnificent atmosphere of this city, new images appeared in my mind. It was impossible for my palette not to be impressed by this city, where the Eastern and Western worlds meet, where many old and new works rise magnificently and where exquisite landscapes intertwine. I could only express my love and admiration for Istanbul with an exhibition. "I hope my works can inspire everyone who visits this exhibition, as they have touched my soul," he said.
