  Who is Abbas Yaşar? (1964-Iğdır)He was born in 1964 in the village of Gaziler, Tuzluca district of Iğdır. He completed his primary and secondary education in the village of Gaziler, Tuzluca. He became interested in painting since his primary school years. In the seventies, he started to attract the attention of his teachers with the drawings he made on his yellow, unlined mathematics notebook. However, the real influence came from the contributions of his art teacher in middle school. He completed his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Fırat University in Elazığ. He attended art classes at other faculties as a guest student during his university years. Later, he studied at the Department of Photography and Videography at Anadolu University.He took lessons from Avni Memedoğlu at the Yeni Dal Art Gallery in Istanbul between 1989-1993. He participated in his first exhibition on March 2, 1993 at the Kenter Art Gallery. He opened his first solo exhibition on October 1, 1994 at the Kocaeli Municipality Art Gallery. Abbas Yaşar opened a total of 9 solo exhibitions in Istanbul, Ankara, Kocaeli and Ayvalık. He also participated in many group exhibitions, primarily in Ankara and Istanbul. Abbas Yaşar, who started his working life in Kocaeli, moved to Ankara after the 1999 earthquake. He continued his painting works in Ankara. Since 2001, he has curated the painting and sculpture exhibitions organized in memory of the Village Institutes, which have become a tradition by the Eğitim Sen and Köy Enstitüsüleri associations and foundations.We can say that he created an original fiction by combining the symbolic with the conceptual in his paintings. The artist, who takes the contradictions in society as his subject, drew his own path with abstractions and color transitions here and there, starting from the figure.
