Who is Mehmet Erdoğmuş? (1978-Van)
Mehmet Erdoğmuş was born in 1978 amidst the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Van. His interest in art began at a young age, and this passion became central to his life. After completing his primary education at Hacıbekir Primary School, he continued his secondary education at Mehmet Akif Ersoy High School. He completed his high school education in 2004 through distance learning.
“For me, art is a form of communication. I speak with colors and tell stories with lines.” His passion for art education led him to the Painting Department of Atatürk University Ağrı Faculty of Education in 2009. Continuing his academic career, he won first place in the master’s program at Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2024.
In Mehmet Erdoğmuş’s works, the cultural fabric of Anatolia, human stories, and the connection with nature are prominent. His works, especially those depicting female figures, are considered an artistic expression of social memory. In the “Cotton Women” series, he interprets the life struggle and labor of female agricultural workers with a poetic language. His mastery of color and emotional depth create a strong connection with the viewer.
Art Perspective:
“Painting is a form of communication for me. I speak with my colors, I tell stories with my brushstrokes. Art steps in where words are insufficient.”

Green symbolizes rebirth and hope, while also promoting physical healing. Green, the pure truth of nature, has renewed me in my works, and I have been reborn. I am reviving my painting "Suicide in the Economy," which I created in 2007. The integration of green with social reality is born from my brush, reflecting the necessity of social productivity on my canvas.
