Metrohan is hosting the exhibition "Dünyanın Halleri" (States of the World), which brings together 62 works spanning various periods of İbrahim Örs, one of the leading figurative painters in Turkish art.
Metrohan, one of Beyoğlu’s historic buildings, is hosting the "Dünyanın Halleri" exhibition by İbrahim Örs, a prominent figure in Turkish figurative painting. Organized by IMM Culture and IMM Heritage, the exhibition gathers 62 works from the artist's output across different periods of his career.

Comprising works preserved in the family collection, the selection focuses on how Örs interprets humans, nature, animals, and everyday objects through his distinctive painterly language. Alongside portraits such as "Self-Portrait," "Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu," "Bodil Örs," and "Atatürk," the exhibition features works depicting hands, feet, nude figures, horses, bulls, birds, trees, and everyday objects, reflecting the artist's broad range of subjects.

The exhibition focuses not only on what Örs paints but also on how he views the world. Shedding light on the relationship between the artist's life and his creative output, the selection offers an opportunity to trace the evolution of his approach to painting through works from various periods.

İbrahim Örs trained as a student and assistant to Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts between 1965 and 1971. The artist, who over time transformed his observations of human and social life into a more personal formal language, made curvilinear forms, repetitions, layers, and systematic deformation the distinctive elements of his paintings—a shift that became pronounced during the process of abstraction that emerged in the 1980s.

The exhibition “İbrahim Örs: States of the World” (Dünyanın Halleri) can be visited on the first floor of Metrohan between September 10 and December 1, 2026. Admission is free, and the exhibition is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, except on Mondays.
