Gülşen ÇELİK

Who is Gülşen Çelik? (1988-Erzurum)

Gülşen ÇELİK was born in Erzurum in 1988.   She graduated from Erzurum Atatürk University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2007 and her master’s degree from Erzurum Atatürk University Social Sciences Institute in 2011. She completed her Proficiency in Art at Ankara Gazi University Fine Arts Institute between 2013 and 2017.

Between 2012 and 2017, she worked as a research assistant at Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and later at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Department of Visual Arts and Design. She has been working as an assistant professor at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education since 2018. She has participated in many mixed and group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad, including two solo exhibitions.

Art Perspective;

Art is a journey in which the artist expresses their essence with complete sincerity, and at the same time, it is the very reason for embarking on this journey. An artist can achieve originality only by discovering their own identity and essence. This originality not only liberates the artist but also elevates their works to a universal level. Capturing this essence is the most crucial aspect of the creative process. Art is the most tangible reflection of how we live our lives, who we are, and the values that define us. That is why, in creating my own works, I strive to deeply explore the culture, history, and geography I live in. In short, I seek my essence with complete sincerity.
