Who is Esin Seyrek? (1960-İzmir)

-Born in İzmir in 1960
-Studying at Gazi Primary School in Akşehir (Konya),
-Mehmet Akif Ersoy Middle School in Ankara and
-Aydınlıkevler High School in Ankara.
-Graduated from the Painting-Work Department of Gazi Education Institute in Ankara in 1980.
-Worked as an Art History and Painting teacher at Sakarya Ariifiye Teachers High School from 1980 to 1982.
-Worked as an art teacher at TED Ankara College from 1982 to 1989.
-Worked with Painter Cemal Güvenç, one of the Founders of the Watercolour Painters Association at TED Ankara College and held exhibitions together.
-Drawed many portraits of children during the same period.
-Participated in a group exhibition with five other painters at Ankara İş-Sanat (İş Bankası) Gallery in 1983.
-Her poems and drawings were published in the ‘’Ankara Sanat’’ Magazine.
– 1984 Participated in a group exhibition with two painters at the Ankara Turkish-English Cultural Association Art Gallery.
– 1985 Received an honorable mention in the ‘’Ankara Sanat’’ magazine painting competition and her work was exhibited at the State Fine Arts Gallery.
– 1986 Group painting exhibition with two painters at the Ankara Turkish-English Cultural Association Art Gallery,

- Between 1999-2009, she gave painting courses and organized group exhibitions at the design and art workshop she ran with her husband (Seyrek Tasarım-Çayyolu/Ankara).
- In 2004, she made illustrations for awareness cards called ‘’Angel Cards’’ with her friend with whom she did personal development and spiritual studies.

Art Perspective:
With the encouragement of my art-loving family and teachers, my painting studies that I started at a young age led me to choose painting as a profession. I have always felt the contribution of my interest in music, literature and other arts in my paintings.
My paintings mainly feature expressionist portraits and figures. Many different influences such as daily events, dreams, longings, hopes, thoughts, questions, psychological observations are reflected in my works. What I add to the things I see and feel, how I interpret them and how much of it I want to show are important. Balance, emptiness and fullness, contrasts, symbols and metaphorical symbols are the elements I frequently use in my works. The depth in the perception of time created by the integration of the object into the peinture with a different style by breaking away from its own function and becoming alienated interests me. These elements create layers of depth and meaning in my paintings.
In my art, I want to make the viewer think and take them on an emotional journey. In each of my works, I aim to open a window to the viewer's own inner world. Every detail in my paintings offers a space where the viewer can add their own interpretation and derive different meanings. In this way, I aim for my art to be a different and personal experience for each individual.
