Emre Celali's 'Memory Forests' Exhibition at Labirent Art
Emre Celali's "Memory Forests" exhibition, which explores the multifaceted relationship between humanity and time, space, and nature, will be on display at Labirent Art from September 12th to October 17th.
Emre Celali's solo exhibition, "Memory Forests," will be open to art lovers at Labirent Art from September 12th to October 17th.
In Celali's exhibition, the traces left by humanity in nature and time are examined through the relationship between the past and the future. From the first handprints left on cave walls to today's transformed landscapes, the exhibition considers the act of creation as the trace left by humanity in the face of extinction.
Landscapes where Nature, Humanity, and Technology Intersect
In "Memory Forests," the landscape is not considered merely a reflection of nature. It is viewed as a hybrid space where nature, humanity, and technology constantly transform each other.
The works, which are based on the idea that every human intervention in the landscape does not completely eliminate existing forms but rather merges with them to create new surfaces, make visible the tension between nature and human production.
The exhibition, while considering the power of humans to transform their environment as one of the fundamental axes in the development of civilization, does not evaluate this relationship solely through the lens of domination over nature. It also focuses on the search for a new common ground between humanity and nature.
Past and Future in the Same Landscape
In Celali's works, landscapes create a link between what has been lived and what will be lived. These areas, bearing the traces of memory, transform into surfaces where the past and the future meet in the same topography.
Celali, who examines the tendencies of social psychology through landscapes, also sees these landscapes as self-portraits.
“Memory Forests” can be visited at Labirent Sanat between September 12 and October 17.
