Who is Elif Han Sezer? (1978 – Trabzon)

Elif Han SEZER was born in 1978 in Trabzon. With her love for painting in primary school and her teacher noticing her talent, she found the answer to the question of what she wanted to be in the future at that age. She graduated from Karadeniz Technical University Fatih Faculty of Education, Department of Painting Teaching, Graphics Department in 1998 and started her teaching career in Ordu in the same year. While working in different cities and different types of schools, she also continued her own art works.

She currently continues her work in her own studio in Ankara.

Art Perspective;

No matter how the reflection of the ‘essential’ feeling hidden in the human soul takes place, it will be able to become real and exist when it is free from all worries and concerns.
Do we see with eyes or with feelings? In my paintings based on the question, I depict female figures who struggle to exist, who elegantly eliminate their own boundaries, who establish strong bonds by nature and who express themselves in a free body with these bonds. I transform the fact that real seeing is not with the eyes but with much stronger emotional bonds into form by using large and voluminous bonds that I shape with vivid colors and clear lines. I draw attention to the fact that thanks to emotions, which are one of the strongest aspects of women, ‘Even if our eyes are closed, our feelings will always be open’.
