Burcu Ayözcan Atalar

Who is Burcu Ayözcan Atalar? (1979-Ankara)

Born in Ankara in 1979, she completed her primary and secondary education at TED Ankara College. She graduated from the Department of Architecture at METU in 2001. In 2006, she completed her master’s degree at Gazi University’s Faculty of Architecture with a study titled “Experiencing Space in Art: Installation Studies,” which examined spatial experiences created through art.
She has been working as an architect, working on the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage and historical buildings, in the private sector between 2001 and 2008, and at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism since 2008.
The artist, who works in her own studio, has had her work exhibited in national and international exhibitions.
She is a member of the United Painters and Sculptors Association and the TED Ankara College Alumni Association.
Emotions and their reflections are of great importance to the artist. Movement and expression form the primary language of her work. Her works prioritize expressing emotion and moment through the influence of color, form, and dynamic brushstrokes.
